A-Grade Electrician (Solar + Projects)
The Role
An owner-led electrical outfit in Adelaide is looking for an A-Grade Electrician with solar and battery experience to join their small, high-trust crew.
You’ll be dispatched to jobs and expected to run them end-to-end — scope, materials, execution, sign-off. No hand-holding. No constant calls. Just a capable sparky who can land on a site and deliver clean work.
The work is varied: solar and battery installs one day, a commercial fit-out the next, then maybe a specialty automation or large-format LED project. If you’re a one-trick pony, this isn’t the gig. If you thrive on variety, read on.
$55–$65/hr + Super | Company vehicle (personal use OK) | Flexible week (4-day or standard Mon–Fri) | Weekend work available, not mandatory
The Work
Expect a roughly 50/50 split between solar/battery and broader electrical project work:
Solar & Battery
- Full home backup solar + battery systems
- Residential and commercial solar installs
- Solar auditing, compliance checks, and rectification of other installers’ work
- Target: ~15–20kW solar + full home backup job per week as baseline
Electrical Projects
- Residential new builds for builders
- Commercial fit-outs and upgrades (offices, retail, hospitality)
- Sports lighting and large-format LED screen installs
- Custom automation work (lighting control, RGB features, specialty one-offs)
- Fault-finding and “damage control” rectification on other contractors’ work
Coverage
Adelaide-wide — from the Hills through to Port Adelaide, Outer Harbor, and surrounding areas. Some regional work (wineries, specialty sites).
Why This Company
- Owner-led, small crew — no layers, no politics, direct relationship with the boss
- Genuine variety — solar, commercial, automation, specialty projects. No repetitive domestic grind
- Company vehicle with reasonable personal use
- Flexible roster — open to 4-day week or standard 5-day, whatever fits
- Quality-first culture — “the electricians that fix things for electricians”
- Incentives — finder’s fee / profit share if you bring in work
- Team culture — mid-year crew trip (Alice Springs desert race), time-in-lieu system, social crew that backs each other
- Growth path — the owner wants to step back from the tools and scale. This is a long-term seat, not a temp fill
Requirements

- Comfortable directing apprentices and trade assistants
- Familiarity with SolarEdge, Fronius, GoodWe or similar product ranges
