Commercial Electrician
About the Role
A well-established Adelaide-based electrical contractor is seeking a Commercial Electrician to join their team on contract basis. The company specialises in commercial and industrial electrical work across Adelaide’s metro area, servicing office buildings, warehouses, retail centres, and industrial facilities.
You’ll be working independently on various commercial electrical projects including new installations, fitouts, maintenance, and breakdown repairs. The work involves dealing directly with building managers, contractors, and facility managers across established commercial accounts.
Commercial only. No residential work.

Roster & After-Hours
- Standard business hours Monday to Friday
- Occasional weekend work available
- Emergency call-outs shared rotation (optional overtime)
- Penalty rates apply for after-hours and weekend work
Compensation & Benefits
- Rate: $50/hr + penalties
- Superannuation at 12%
- Weekly pay cycle
- Immediate start available
Requirements
Essential
- Current SA Electrical Workers Licence
- Minimum 3 years commercial electrical experience
- Own basic electrical hand tools
- Construction White Card
- Working rights in Australia
- Reliable transport to various sites
Preferred (Not Essential)
- EWP (Elevated Work Platform) ticket
- Switchboard and distribution experience
- Fire services electrical experience
- Own vehicle and basic PPE kit
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Qualified commercial electrician currently earning $45-50/hr who wants consistent work without residential call-outs
- Comfortable working independently on commercial sites without constant supervision
- Good communication skills for dealing with building managers and other contractors
- Has reliable transport and owns standard electrical tools
- Looking for immediate start and variety in daily work
Interview Process
- Stage 1: Phone screening to verify licence, experience, and availability (15 minutes)
- Stage 2: Face-to-face meeting with site manager to discuss specific projects and start date
- Interview availability: Weekday afternoons or early mornings before start
