Senior Commercial HVAC/R Technician
About the Role
We’re sourcing 1–2 Senior Commercial Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technicians for a well-established Adelaide-based business with a strong commercial client base built over decades. This is a field-based role covering service, maintenance, reactive breakdowns and changeovers. You’ll be autonomous, customer-facing, and supported by a team that triage after-hours where possible.
Commercial only. No domestic work.

Roster & After-Hours
- On-call: 1 in 6 rotation
- After-hours triaged where possible — if it can wait, it waits
- Hospitality failures (particularly Friday nights) may require urgent response
- Overtime available during busy periods
- Standard roster details (start/finish times, base weekly hours) to be confirmed at offer stage
Compensation & Benefits
- Rate: $50–$55/hr base, negotiable up to $60/hr for senior operators
- OTE: approximately $150k when all inclusions are added
- Fully serviced take-home vehicle (personal use permitted)

Requirements
Essential
- Full Australian working rights
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
- Trade qualified Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
- ARCtick / ARC Licence
- Electrical Licence (B Class)
- White Card
- Strong customer service and professional presentation
- Comfortable with on-call roster and overtime
Preferred (Not Essential)
- Working at Heights ticket
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Cool rooms / hospitality maintenance background
- Rack system or glycol experience
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Runs commercial jobs autonomously without hand-holding
- Comfortable with reactive breakdown pressure and quick turnarounds
- Strong communicator with site managers and venue operators
- Values a properly resourced employer (good vehicles, parts support, clear systems)
- Currently on $45–$52/hr or doing worse on-call and wants a better roster
- Open to relocation (interstate candidates with reasons to move to Adelaide are welcomed)
Interview Process
- Stage 1: Screening call (licences, rate, on-call comfort, notice period)
- Stage 2: In-person meet with hiring manager (video acceptable if time-poor)
- Interview availability: typically 10:00am – 2:00pm
